Equipment Basics
Weapons and armor pieces are Equipment that can be worn to enhance a player's stats. It can be equipped from Character > Equipment. It is kept in Character > Equip Inventory, where it can also be placed in storage.
A pop-up window with stats for a piece of equipment can be generated by hovering over it and pressing c (this is case sensitive - make sure Caps Lock is off). This can be linked to other players via the Hentaiverse forums, and it can also be modified by some scripts to display different stats.
Equip Inventory
The basic Equip Inventory is split into two sides: Equipment Inventory, and Equipment Storage. A player can hold up to a limit of 1,000 equipments.
Under the Equipment Inventory pane, this is shown as "Equip Slots: Inventory + Storage / 1000". On the Storage side, another count is shown: "Storage slots: Used Slots / Extra Space". Note that the Extra Space is not a limit on how many items can be held in Storage - it is the amount of items you can store without adding to the Storage part of the limit on the Inventory side. This extra space can be increased with the 'Hoarder' series of hath perks.
Equipment Generation
Equipment can be generated from four sources - as drops in battles, from the Lotteries, from exchanging trophies at the Shrine and through the Follower of Snowflake hath perk. If a player reaches the inventory limit of 1000, equipment drops are automatically discarded and attempting to exchange a trophy will result in an error.
Characteristics
Terminology
There are several keywords used to describe specific aspects of an equipment.
- Quality is a graded system that determines how high the minimum and maximum possible stats on an item can be. Some quality grades have additional effects.
- The possible qualities, from weakest to strongest, are Crude, Fair, Average, Superior, Exquisite, Magnificent, Legendary and Peerless.
- Prefixes and Suffixes are modifiers which add or increase certain stats.
- An example prefix would be the Hallowed in the full item name "Peerless Hallowed Oak Staff of Heimdall".
- An example suffix would be the Heimdall in the above example.
- Tier refers to types of Armors. The 'common' tiers are Cotton, Leather and Plate, and the 'rare' tiers are Phase, Shade and Power.
- Shields also have tiers: Buckler and Kite are common, while Force is rare.
- Weapons do not have tiers.
Level
Most equipment possess levels, similar to players, which affects their stats.
- Equipment dropped in battles at or above Superior quality will have the player's current level upon dropping.
- Anything below Superior quality will have 'Level Unassigned', as well as some very old equipments that are no longer obtainable.
- A 'Level Unassigned' equipment will sync to the player's current level when equipped for the first time. It does not grow with the player after this.
- Any equipment that is below the player's level will not scale up in stats with the player.
- Soulfused equipment will always match the level of the player.
- When viewed from an equipment link, soulfused equipment will match the level of the viewer.
- Players cannot equip anything above their level but they can soulfuse equipment up to 100 levels higher than they are.
Elemental Strikes
A weapon may have elemental strikes, which are a source of additional damage applied by melee attacks. They are granted by prefixes, Infusions applied through enchantment, or by unlocking a level 10 Item World potency.
- A weapon can have 2 Elemental Strikes, from any source, plus Void Strike.
- The damage dealt is roughly 50% of your normal physical damage, before mitigations. It is applied as a separate attack within the same turn.
- The damage dealt by an Elemental or Void strike is counted as Physical (ie, subject to the target's physical mitigation as well as specific elemental mitigation).
- Elemental Strikes are unaffected by Spell Damage Bonus stats.
- One-Handed style Counter-Attacks do not apply Elemental Strikes.
- Two-Handed (or Niten Ichiryu) style Domino Strikes do not apply Elemental Strikes to the splash targets.
- Dual Wield style Offhand Strikes do apply Elemental Strikes, subject to the offhand 50% damage penalty.
