Abilities
Abilities provide various boosts, new spells, slots for items / auras, and elemental resistances. At every 10 levels (and at level 1) a new tier of abilities is unlocked.
Ability Points
Abilities require ability points (AP) to be activated or increased in strength.
Sources
- One AP is granted per level.
- AP may be purchased via Ability Boost Training (up to 100).
- Players have a chance to receive 1 AP when offering artifacts at the Shrine.
Investing
Players simply click on an ability when 1 AP is available to invest in it. All abilities use 1, 3, or 5 AP maximum. For spells, only the first AP is needed to unlock the spell. Any additional AP invested will grant more duration or strength to it. It currently takes 627 AP to max out all of the available abilities.
The Tiers
Basic Abilities
Every tier has the following:
Experience Bonus (x3) - boosts EXP gains by 3%
Health Tank (x3) - boosts total HP by 3%
Magic Tank (x3) - boosts total MP by 3%
Spirit Tank (x3) - boosts total SP by 3%
Overcharge Boost (x5) - boosts Overcharge limit by 2%. Three points in Spirit Tank are required to unlock Overcharge Boost.
Tier 1
Unlocks at Level 1.
Fireball - A ball of fire is hurled at the target, causing Fire damage. (Fire I - Single Target)
Poison (x5) - Inflicts Spreading Poison on one target, causing heavy damage over time. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. Tier 2
Unlocks at Level 10.
Icestrike - Launches a pillar of ice against the target, causing Cold damage. (Cold I - Single Target)
Slow (x5) - The target is slowed by 50%, making it attack less frequently. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. (Deprecating - Single Target)
Item Slots I - Increases your number of Battle Inventory Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Cure - Restores a moderate amount of Health on the target. (Curative - Self-Targeted)
Tier 3
Unlocks at Level 20.
Lightning - A bolt of lightning strikes the target, causing Elec damage. (Elec I - Single Target)
Weaken (x5) - The target is weakened, making it take more damage from physical attacks, and preventing it from scoring physical critical hits. Additional points increase the duration and power of the spell. Scroll Slot I - Increases your number of Battle Scroll Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles.
Tier 4
Unlocks at Level 30.
Windblast - A blast of wind hits the target, causing Wind damage. (Wind I - Single Target)
Sleep (x5) - The target is lulled to sleep, preventing it from taking any actions. Additional points increase the duration and power of the spell. (Deprecating - Single Target)
Item Slots II - Increases your number of Battle Inventory Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Protection - Enhances the protective gear of the target, boosting the natural physical and magical defenses of the armor by 25%. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Tier 5
Unlocks at Level 40.
Condemn - Holy damage. (Holy I - Single Target)
Haste (x5) - The target is hastened, allowing it to attack more frequently. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. Infusion Slot I - Increases your number of Battle Infusion Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Tier 6
Unlocks at Level 50.
Flare - A powerful fiery blast envelops the target, causing heavy Fire damage. (Fire II - Single Target)
Shadow Veil (x5) - A veil of shadows surrounds the target, making it harder to hit with attacks and spells. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Item Slots III - Increases your number of Battle Inventory Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Tier 7
Unlocks at Level 60.
Freeze - Cold damage. (Cold II - Single Target)
Confuse (x5) - Confuses the target, making it lunge out wildly and strike friends and foes alike. Additional points increases the duration and power of the spell. (Deprecating - Single Target)
Focused Aura I - Increases your maximum Aura Rank by one, allowing you to upgrade your auras to become more powerful. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Scroll Slot II - Increases your number of Battle Scroll Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles.
Tier 8
Unlocks at Level 70.
Ball Lightning - Elec damage. (Elec II - Single Target)
Imperil (x5) - The target is imperiled, reducing physical and magical mitigation as well as elemental mitigations. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. (Deprecating - Single Target)
Item Slots IV - Increases your number of Battle Inventory Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Regen - Places a heal over time effect on the target. (Curative - Self-Targeted)
Tier 9
Unlocks at Level 80.
Gale - Wind damage. (Wind II - Single Target)
Blind (x5) - Blinds the target, reducing its chance of landing attacks and hitting with magic spells. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. (Deprecating - Single Target)
X-Item - Your skills at using items are boosted, decreasing usage time by 25%. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Infusion Slot II - Increases your number of Battle Infusion Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Tier 10
Unlocks at Level 90.
Smite - Holy damage. (Holy II - Single Target)
Absorb (x5) - The next magical attack against the target may be absorbed and partially converted to MP. Additional points increase the power of the spell. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
X-Attack - Your skills at wielding weapons are boosted, decreasing attack time by 25%. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Tier 11
Unlocks at Level 100.
Soul Reaper - Soul damage. (Soul I - Single Target)
Spark of Life (x5) - Any attack that would normally kill you leaves you alive with a small percentage of HP. The buff is removed when triggered, and 50% of the player's base SP is consumed in the process. Additional points increase the duration of the spell and the amount of HP the player is left alive with. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Focused Aura II - Increases your maximum Aura Rank by one, allowing you to upgrade your auras to become more powerful. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Cure II - Restores a large amount of Health on the target. (Curative - Self-Targeted) [Requires Cure]
Tier 12
Unlocks at Level 110.
Nova - Fire damage. (Fire III - Single Target)
Silence (x5) - The target is silenced, preventing it from using special attacks and magic. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. (Deprecating - Single Target)
Scroll Slot III - Increases your number of Battle Scroll Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Flame Spikes - A shield of flames surrounds the target. Fire mitigation is increased, and physical attackers take minor fire damage. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Tier 13
Unlocks at Level 130.
Cryostasis - Cold damage. (Cold III - Single Target)
Arcane Focus (x5) - The target attains a higher level of attunement with the arcane forces, increasing magic power, accuracy, and crit chance. Additional points increase the duration and power of the spell. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Infusion Slot III - Increases your number of Battle Infusion Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Frost Spikes - A shield of frost surrounds the target. Cold mitigation is increased, and physical attackers take minor cold damage. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Tier 14
Unlocks at Level 150.
Corruption - Dark damage. (Dark I - Single Target)
Nerf (x5) - The target is nerfed, making its physical and magical damage output drop by 25%. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. (Deprecating - Single Target)
Item Slots V - Increases your number of Battle Inventory Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battles. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Regen II - Places a long-lasting heal over time effect on the target. (Curative - Self-Targeted) [Requires Regen]
Tier 15
Unlocks at Level 170.
Shockblast - Elec damage. (Elec III - Single Target)
Heartseeker (x5) - The target attains intimate knowledge of the source of life in all living things, increasing attack power, accuracy, and crit chance. Additional points increase the duration and power of the spell. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Scroll Slot IV - Increases the number of Battle Scroll Slots by one, allowing you to bring more items to battle. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Lightning Spikes - A shield of lightning surrounds the target. Elec mitigation is increased, and physical attackers take minor elec damage. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Tier 16
Unlocks at Level 190.
Downburst - Wind damage. (Wind III - Single Target)
Spirit Shield (x5) - Powerful attacks against you will be partially absorbed and damage your spirit gauge instead of health. Additional points increase the duration and power of the spell. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Focused Aura III - Increases your maximum Aura Rank by one, allowing you to upgrade your auras to become more powerful. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Storm Spikes - A shield of storms surrounds the target. Wind mitigation is increased, and physical attackers take minor wind damage. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
Tier 17
Unlocks at Level 200.
Disintegrate - Dark damage. (Dark II - Single Target)
X-Nerf (x5) - All hostile targets are nerfed, making their physical and magical damage output drop by 25%. Additional points increase the duration of the spell. (Deprecating - Area of Effect)
X-Magic - Your skills at wielding the mystical magic powers are boosted, decreasing cast time by 25%. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Cure III - Restores a huge amount of Health on the target. (Curative - Self-Targeted) [Requires Cure II]
Tier 18
Unlocks at Level 250.
Soul Fire - Soul damage. (Soul II - Single Target)
MagNet (x5) - A net of pure energy is cast on the target, slowing it by 25% and making it unable to evade attacks or spells.
Focused Aura IV - Increases your maximum Aura Rank by one, allowing you to upgrade your auras to become more powerful. (Permanent - Cannot be Reset)
Lifestream - Places a health tap effect on the target, returning a small amount of health to the caster on each target turn.
Ability Reset
Abilities can be reset out of battle for a credit cost.
Reset Cost = round(((N - 1) * 10) ^ 1.8) + 100
where N is the number of resets already done. This cost caps at 10,000C.
The following abilities cannot be reset once activated:
Item Slots, Aura Slots, X-Abilities, Scroll Slots, Infusion Slots, and Focused Auras.
