AP may be purchased via Ability Boost Training (capped at player's level).
This means that AP is effectively capped at double the player's level.
Investing
Players click on an empty box to the right of an ability when enough AP is available to invest in it. Different abilities and ranks require different amounts of AP.
Clicking on the ability icon will add it as an active ability. Clicking the icon in the list of active abilities will remove it again.
The Maximum number of active abilities can be increased to a maximum of 20 Major Ability Slots (Red), 20 Supportive Ability Slots (Green), 1 Protection Augment Ability slot (Blue), and1 Drain Augment Ability Slot (Pink).
Unlocking slots requires Mastery Points. These are gained through levelling up, and through Donating. Hovering over a locked slot will indicate how many mastery points are required to unlock it.
Ability and Persona
Every persona has separate AP distribution, ability assignments, and unlocked mastery slots.
Every persona has a separate reset counter (even if a persona is cloned); this allows for free ability resets.
Every persona shares the same amount of Ability Points and Mastery Points.
