Making Galleries

The following is a guide to uploading galleries.

Checking

• Make sure that none of the content is prohibited by the site's rules.
• Check that the content is not already uploaded. Any gallery that states that it is "Visible" counts as "existing" in the system. This generally isn't necessary for imageset galleries.
  • Ways to check include:
    • Searching for the title, artist, or applicable tags.
    • Performing a file search on at least one of your images.
  • If you intend to replace an existing gallery, make sure that you content is genuinely superior. Be wary of posting an upscale.
• Remove any duplicate images before uploading. These can be scanned for using software such as VisiPics.
• You risk the gallery being expunged as a compilation if it includes portions of comics or CG sets that do not belong. e.g. An imageset dedicated to an artist can contain all of their works besides their published comics/sets.
• Sort and remove any mixed content (Cosplay, 3D, and 2D content should not be in the same gallery; likewise with Asian and Western content). There are separate categories for a reason.
• It is advisable to double check that the order of the images is correct (where applicable).
  • In addition it is advisable to rename the files for consistency and ease of viewing (e.g. 001.jpg, 002.jpg, etc.) for those that choose to download the gallery.

Uploading

1. Click on Upload Gallery.
2. Fill in as much information as possible. All galleries are required to have at least a title.
3. Choose the folder to which the gallery will be placed in your maintain galleries screen. The default is "Unsorted".
4. Check the boxes indicating that you have read and agreed to the rules and which category the gallery falls under. Click "Create and continue". Not checking the box for a category will create a private gallery.
5. Add archives or images that make up the gallery's content. Click "Upload and Add More" if more uploads are needed for the gallery, otherwise click "Upload and Continue". Repeat this step as needed.
6. Wait.
7. Once the uploading is complete check for completeness. You may also re-order, add, or remove any images at this time. Re-ordering should be done if the pages are out of order and especially if the cover of the gallery is not the first image of the gallery.
8. Once you are satisfied click on "Publish Gallery" to publish your gallery.

Please note that it can take ~1-15 minutes for your gallery to appear on the gallery list depending on server activity.

Limits

• Archives may only be of the following formats: RAR, ZIP
• Images may only be of the following formats: GIF, JPG, PNG
• Individual images are capped at 10MB in size
• Images are capped at 20,000 x 20,000 resolution
• Galleries are capped at 2,000 images

Updating

All modification to galleries can be done through the Gallery Manager.

• Modifying a gallery's name(s), description, or order of images may be done freely after it is published.
  • Renaming cannot be done if a petition was successful on the gallery. In order to change the name further a new petition must surpass the existing one.
• Once a gallery is published any adding or removing of images will count as an update. This creates a new gallery that immediately replaces the older one (with a new timestamp).
  • Galleries will be expunged if they are updated more than 2 times per 30 days (some exceptions apply).

Bounties

If you are uploading content with a bounty on it, be sure to contact the bounty poster to claim your reward.

Promoting

• You are free to promote your uploaded galleries in your forum signature or on other websites.
• You may choose to make a torrent of your gallery's contents. You may also include non-image files or anything which is not present in the gallery within these torrents.
  • Note that other users may make torrents for your galleries as well.

Rewards

Each hit on your galleries rewards GP. Getting enough hits can get you a ranking in the uploader / gallery toplists as well.
