Dit artikel is bedoeld om de gebruikers van E-Hentai te helpen met technische problemen die zij kunnen hebben.

Algemeen

• "Error 503 - Service Unavailable"
  • Deze errors worden veroorzaakt door site onderhoud of server problemen.
  • Wacht alsjeblieft en probeer het later weer.

• Ik wil mijn account verwijderen!
  • Dit kan niet worden verzocht. Stop gewoon met je account gebruiken.

• Ik wil meer dan 1 account gebruiken!
  • Dit is een vergrijp waar je verbannen voor kan worden, je mag maar 1 actief account hebben.

• Ik ben mijn paswoord vergeten!
  • Vul het paswoord vergeten formulier (Engels) in. Je hebt hier wel je gebruikersnaam voor nodig.

• Ik ben mijn gebruikersnaam vergeten!
  • Probeer het personeel te bereiken via staff@e-hentai.org. Let op: dit moet in het Engels.

• De site ziet / gedraagt zich raar wanneer ik Internet Explorer gebruik!
  • De site is niet geoptimaliseerd voor IE. Gebruik alsjeblieft Firefox of Chrome als browser.

• Ik krijg een blanke pagina wanneer ik de website probeer te openen!
  • Je moet Common Problematic Software deactiveren, als je dat heb aanstaan.
  • Deactiveer je anti-virus, firewall, of andere software die het blokkeren van verkeer op achtergrond mogelijk maakt, en probeer het opnieuw.
  • Ververs je DNS cache, herstart je browser, en probeer het dan opnieuw.
  • Open command prompt en typ (zonder de aanhalingstekens) "nslookup g.e-hentai.org". Als er adressen in de resultaten staan, is het niet een DNS probleem. Anders, verander naar Google als een DNS provider.¹
  • Gebruik een proxy of een VPN om de website te bezoeken.
    • Als dit niet werkt is het een probleem met je internet provider.
  • Om diagnostiek te leveren over dit, doe alsjeblieft het volgende:
    • Open command prompt en typ (zonder de aanhalingstekens) "pathping e-hentai.org". Plak de resultaten.
    • Druk Ctrl+Shift+K in Firefox. Probeer normaal via de adres balk e-hentai.org te bezoeken. Plak de inhoud van de Console van FireFox.

• "Page load has been aborted due to a fatal error. A report has been dispatched to site staff. Please try again later."
  • Er is een error aan de server-kant. Probeer het overnieuw in een paar minuten.

E-Hentai Galleries

• Images are not loading.
  • Try the "Click here if the image fails loading" link.
  • Try adding "?nl=1" to the end of the URL. This bypasses H@H servers.
  • Do not use Internet Explorer. Firefox and Chrome are the recommended browsers for this site.
  • Try disabling all browser add-ons / plug-ins.
  • If you are using NoScript, disable ABE, or configure it so that local resources can be accessed by "g.e-hentai.org".
  • If you are using Opera, tick Config -> Network -> Allow Cross Network Navigation.
  • Check your browser's proxy settings and disable any proxies that may be causing issues.
  • Check your My Settings page and make sure that Hentai@Home Proxy is not in use.
    • If you wish to use the H@H proxy, make sure that your H@H client is running without any errors.
      • In Opera go to Preferences -> Advanced -> Security -> Trusted Websites -> Secure Internal Hosts and add 127.0.0.1.
  • Turn off any problematic software which may block traffic.
  • Make sure automatic image loading is enabled in your browser.
    • Firefox: In Tools -> Options -> Content enable "Load images automatically". Also make sure that e-hentai.org is not in the exceptions list.
    • Opera: In Settings -> Preferences -> Webpages -> Images enable "Show images". Some versions might have Quick Preferences or site-specific settings as well.
    • Chrome In Options -> Under the Hood -> Content settings enable "Show all images".

• "Error 509 - Bandwidth Exceeded"
• "Error loading image: Could not get dispatch for image"
  • You have visited too many pages. Either wait a few hours or purchase the "More Pages" Hath Perks.
  • If you are on a shared connection consider using a proxy to browse E-Hentai.

• "Error 414 - Request-URI Too Large"
  • Occurs if the URL being accessed is too long, often from advanced searches.
    • Depending on your search you can safely remove any non-relevant search parameters contained within the URL.
  • You have performed a file search that found too many results.

• "The connection to the server was canceled during the page load."
  • Your connection was automatically blocked for making too many connections.
  • Wait for the ban to expire.

• "Content Warning - This gallery has been flagged as Offensive For Everyone. Due to its content, it should not be viewed by anyone. (And if you choose to ignore this warning, you lose all rights to complain about it in the future.)"
  • This indicates that the gallery has been tagged with guro or scat. You may choose to view the gallery, no longer receive these warnings ("Never Warn Me Again"), or go to the front page of the galleries.

• A gallery I downloaded via Doggie Bag says "Unexpected end of archive."
  • The download was interrupted at some point. Please try to download it again.

• Thumbnails appear with inverted colors.
  • This is a rare glitch which resolves itself over time.
  • The actual images should appear as normal when accessed.

• "The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server."
  • Check if you are on an ISP-level proxy here. Note that reverse proxies cannot be detected with tools like these.
  • Check if your browser settings have a proxy enabled.
  • Check if your E-Hentai user settings have an H@H proxy enabled here.

• "You are opening pages too fast, thus placing a heavy load on the server. Back down, or your IP address will be automatically banned."
  • Self-explanatory.
  • May be triggered by prefetching in Chrome. Turn off that service.

• "Your IP address has been temporarily banned for using automated mirroring/harvesting software and/or failing to heed the overload warning"
  • You have opened too many pages at once or you have used software that downloaded too many images from the site simultaneously.
  • Wait until the ban expires.

• "Key missing, or incorrect key provided."
  • The URL you are visiting is incorrect.

• When I save an image I only get blank.gif!
  • The image did not have enough time to load. The blank.gif is a placeholder shown while waiting for image retrieval.
  • If you are using the Quick Browse hath perk while using Firefox, you may have to save the image through View Page Info -> Media.

• "Upload is temporarily unavailable."
  • The upload server is offline.
  • Please wait and try again later.

• "Failed to prepare one or more files for the archive. Please try again in an hour. Contact staff if this error persists."
  • Self-explanatory.

• Someone else's gallery has an incorrect name or category!
  • See Renaming for name changing.
  • See Gallery Tagging - Categories for category changing.
  • You may also post the URLs to such galleries here. It is recommended to indicate the correct name/category in your post.

• "That is already one of the suggested names."
  • You attempted to add a renaming petition with the same content as an existing one for the gallery.

• "New suggested title is too short."
  • You attempted to add a blank name as a renaming petition.

• I cannot rate a gallery!
  • Sometimes the rating UI does not respond due to server congestion, try again later.
  • You cannot rate your own galleries.
  • You may be banned from rating galleries. You should receive notification if this is the case.

• I can't tell what my hunter rank is!
  • This value is hidden, you can estimate it based on your number of claims that were accepted or rejected.

• I'm still seeing ads even after buying the Ads-Be-Gone Hath Perk!
  • Clear your cookies.

• "You have been banned from expunging galleries."
  • You are no longer permitted to use expunge petitions. This is permanent.

• I am being redirected to other sites!
  • Make sure you typed the URL correctly or that the link you followed has it spelled correctly.
  • Check with your ISP about any blocked or redirected traffic.
  • Any countries / territories noted here are known to block E-Hentai.org.
  • Check for malware such as browser hijacks.

• I am being redirected to "warning.or.kr"!
  • You live in South Korea. Move.
  • A proxy will work but is of questionably legal status.

• "No ACL entry"
  • You are not on the Access Control List of the tool you are attempting to use.
  • Please contact the appropriate person if you wish to have something done via said tool.

• "eeenope"
  • You do not have access to the Multi-Page Viewer.
  • Change the URL.

• The connection to the server was canceled during the page load.
  • Your IP was automatically blocked for opening a huge amount of connections.

Common Problematic Software

• PeerBlock, PeerGuardian, Protowall, Megakey, Transmission (Torrent client for Mac OS), DansGuardian, SquidGuard, HackShield (used as part of some MMOs).
• All of the IP blockers cause problems because users get a list that includes half the Internet. Most P2P applications support directly loading bad-IP lists so that you won't have this problem. Use that instead of global IP blocking.

Gallery Commenting

• I cannot comment on a gallery!
  • You may only have 1 comment per gallery. Attempting to add another will simply edit your existing one.
  • You may be banned from commenting on galleries. You should receive notification if this is the case.

• "You can only add comments for active galleries."
  • Deleted galleries may not have comments made on them.

• I cannot rate a gallery comment!
  • You cannot rate comments if you have made a comment on the same gallery.
    • Any existing comment ratings will be removed if you make a comment on a gallery.

• My gallery comment disappeared!
  • Gallery comments will become hidden if they are rated lower than -19.
  • Only the top 10 rated comments are displayed by default; the rest are hidden.

• I cannot delete my gallery comment!
  • You may only edit your gallery comments, you cannot delete them.

• "You have to wait 60 seconds between each comment."
  • Self-explanatory.
  • Editing a comment also counts towards this limit.

• "Your gallery comment is too short."
  • Gallery comments must be at least 10 characters long.

• "You have to type a real comment."
  • You entered in the default text into the comment form ("Enter your review here, then hit Post Review. You can edit your review later if needed.")

• "Could not vote for comment. Reason: Correlation factor between reviewer and voter has exceeded reasonable limits. Vote blocked."
  • You have voted on a particular user's comments too much.
  • You must vote on other users' comments a certain amount before you are permitted to vote on that user again (Unconfirmed).

Your Galleries

• My gallery disappeared!
  • Check if it is still listed in your Gallery Manager.
    • Is so, the reason it is not visible will be indicated there.
  • Attempt to visit a direct link to your gallery.

• I'm having trouble uploading.
  • Upload your images in a compressed format such as .zip or .rar.
  • Break your upload into smaller portions. Start at 20MB and decrease or increase as desired.
  • Turn off any software that uses upload bandwidth while you are uploading to the site.

• "{Filename} has been blacklisted on this system"
  • Any file that causes this message should NOT be uploaded as it is DNP.

• I cannot create more galleries!
  • Make sure you have not reached your misc galleries limit.

• My gallery has an incorrect name or category!
  • Check if it is still listed in your Gallery Manager.
    • If so, you may rename or re-categorize it from there.
    • If a rename petition was successful on your gallery but the name is still unsatisfactory, you may insert another option in the rename petition. Should this new option reach a higher vote than the current name it will change over.

• I cannot rename my gallery!
  • A successful rename petition was done on your gallery. This prevents further name changes from the gallery owner.
    • If the name is still unsatisfactory you may insert another option in the rename petition. Should this new option reach a higher vote than the current name it will change over.
  • Expunged galleries cannot be renamed.

• "You have been temporarily barred from uploading and managing galleries. The bar expires in x hours."
  • Too many of your galleries were expunged, removed, or deleted.
  • Wait for the ban to expire and do not create any more bad uploads.

• "You have been banned from submitting galleries to this system."
  • Same as above, except this is permanent.

• I cannot delete my gallery!
  • Deletions by the gallery owner are only possible with unpublished, private, or expunged galleries.

• "Could not rate gallery. Reason: You cannot rate your own gallery."
  • Self-explanatory.

• "Could not obtain lock on gallery - if you are not running any active operations on this gallery, please wait about 15 minutes for the lock to expire."
  • Occurs when a gallery being uploaded / managed is in the middle of being processed by the server.
  • Please wait and try again later.

• My gallery was expunged unfairly!
  • Make sure it was expunged and not removed or deleted. Each of these happen for very different reasons.
  • Check the gallery's expunge log for the reason(s) users voted to have it expunged.
  • Post the gallery's URL here to discuss it.

• My gallery has missing, unwanted, or wrongly ordered images!
  • You can add, remove, and modify the order of all your gallery's images via the Gallery Manager.
    • Note that you may only update a gallery twice per every 30 days (some exceptions apply).
      • This limit does not apply to unpublished / private galleries.

• When people download my gallery the files are in the wrong order!
  • Downloaded galleries use the filenames of the files when they were uploaded, so they may be out of order even if you corrected the order manually via the gallery maintenance UI.
  • Rename your files to the correct order before uploading (e.g. 001.jpg, 002.jpg, etc.) to avoid this problem.
    • This is further recommended since different OSes sort files differently.

• "Could not obtain lock on gallery - if you are not running any active operations on this gallery, please wait about 15 minutes for the lock to expire."
  • Occurs when the server is still processing your upload.
  • Please wait and try again later.

• Someone is giving my galleries 1 star ratings!
  • They are entitled to their opinions.

• My gallery's stats show low/no hits!
  • Gallery stats are updated every ~1-2 hours. Please wait and check again later.

Gallery Not Available

• "This gallery has been removed, and is unavailable."
  • This is not the same as a gallery being deleted or expunged.
  • Do not re-upload it.

• "This gallery has been locked for review. Please check back later."
  • A moderator has locked the gallery. This is usually only due to potentially serious rule violations that require examination.
  • The gallery will likely be removed or deleted in due time, otherwise it will be returned to normal.

Gallery Tagging

• Some tag searches include additional results.
  • See Gallery Tagging - Known Issues for workarounds.

• I cannot tag a gallery!
  • The tag you are attempting to use may not be acceptable (e.g. too short or blacklisted).
  • You may be banned from tagging galleries. You should receive notification if this is the case.

• "Could not vote for tag. Reason: You need more power to add that tag."
• "Could not vote for tag: Cannot vote for tag."
  • The tag you are attempting to vote on requires additional mod power before you may do so.
  • This is typically done to prevent poor handling of the tag by newer users.

• I tried to tag something and it turned into a different tag!
  • Your tag included non-alphanumeric characters which are not permitted. Only hyphens, periods, and spaces are allowed in tags.
  • Due to the grouping system for tags any slave tag will become its respective master tag. If you are not satisfied with the grouping you may post here to discuss it.

• My gallery was tagged with lolicon / shotacon / other fjording tags when it contains none!
  • Make sure it does not contain a single image that can be tagged with any fjording tags.
    • Note that downvoting these tags when they are valid is a serious offense.
  • Post the gallery's URL here.

• My gallery has incorrect tags! (besides the ones mentioned above)
  • Vote them down if you are absolutely certain that they are incorrect.
  • Post the gallery's URL here.

• "Could not vote for tag. Reason: Missing arguments"
  • You entered in a term or phrase that is rendered as a blank tag.

• "Server communication failed. Server responded with:"
  • Wait a few seconds and try again.

• "Could not vote for tag. Reason: You have already voted for or entered this tag, or you are trying to vote for a suppressed tag"
  • You have already voted for the tag in the corresponding direction or the tag has been suppressed by downvotes.

• "Could not vote for tag. Reason: You cannot possibly have taken the time to look at the gallery in that short time. You must wait 10 seconds between tagging different galleries."
  • You attempted to vote on a tag on a gallery too quickly after doing so on a different gallery.
  • This limit can be reduced with increased mod power.

• "Could not vote for tag. Reason: Yeah, you can't add that as a tag. Better luck next time."
  • You entered in the default text on the tag form ("Enter New Tags (separate with comma)").

• "Could not vote for tag. Reason: No effect"
  • You are voting down a tag that was already voted down to 0.

• Someone is voting down my tags!
  • Make sure the tags used followed the tagging guidelines.
  • You may post here to discuss it.
    • Please do not go accusing any particular individuals or ask for any bans.

• "Could not vote for tag. Reason: The tag {tagname} has been vetoed on this gallery"
  • The tag has been downvoted by at least 3 users with veto power. The tag can no longer be upvoted after this has happened.

• "Could not vote for tag. Reason: The tag {tagname} is in a restricted namespace and must first be defined by a tag moderator."
  • The namespace you are attempting to use has not been approved by a tag moderator.
  • If you are certain it should be usable please contact a tag moderator or post here to have it added.

• "Could not vote for tag: The tag {tagname} has an invalid namespace."
  • The namespace being used is not a correct one. Check your spelling.
  • Make sure not to use a colon when tagging something that does not belong to a namespace.

HentaiVerse

(For in-game error messages see HentaiVerse Bugs & Errors)

• "The batte [sic] state tracker is currently offline."
  • The HentaiVerse is offline. Please wait a few minutes and try again.

• Dawn of a New Day message does not appear.
  • Please wait a few minutes and try again.
  • Even if the message did not appear, check to see if the rewards from the Dawn have been received.

• Posting in the forums is not giving an EXP gain bonus.
  • The EXP bonus takes 1 hour after each posting to take effect.

• My Power is not up to date!
  • It may take up to 24 hours to update.
  • It may be updated instantly upon receiving a karma imbuement.

• I'm missing Ability Points!
  • If you have performed an ability reset, make sure you are taking into account that certain abilities cannot be reset and utilize their invested points permanently.

• I'm not receiving any EXP!
  • Make sure your Stamina is above 9.

• Holding down hotkeys doesn't work!
  • If you are using NoScript, open Firefox to about:config and set noscript.clearClick.rapidFireCheck to "false".

• I jumped to a new fight instead of going to the next turn!
  • If the server cluster loses a node temporarily, which isn't unlikely until it's completely warmed up, this could happen. Just wait a few minutes and it should re-establish the connection to the node and load your battle again.

• I don't receive EXP from Dawn of a New Day when I am in battle!
  • This is a known issue which should be fixed in the future.

• Some of the graphics don't show!
  • Try Ctrl+ F5 to force reload the graphics.

• I sold something to the Bazaar and got more credits than what it indicated!
  • Item Bot profit sharing. Check your credit log to confirm.

• My EXP required for the next level is showing as a negative!
  • This is purely an aesthetic bug. It can occur when trigger a dawn event that gives enough EXP to level up whilst in a battle.

H@H

Always make sure you have the latest stable version (pre-7) of Java Runtime Environment and that your internet speed is sufficient when running the client.

• What's my Client ID?
  • You will not have one if you did not sign up for H@H.
  • Check here for it.

• My client isn't doing anything!
  • Check if your trust is negative. Your client will not take any automatic actions until your trust is positive.
  • Wait for your trust to rise to at least +1. This should occur eventually if your client is running properly (clients gain ~1-4 trust per minute).
  • If you are running a brand new client, you must wait for your cache to fill. Please be patient.

• My client has low trust!
  • This commonly occurs after a bad shutdown since the server continues to attempt contact with your client after it went offline.
  • Leave the client running, it will gradually regain trust if no other problems exist.
  • If your trust is not recovering at all it may indicate a communication or file corruption issue.

• "Request host did not send Content-Length, aborting transfer."
  • Something is blocking your requests, disable any problematic software that may be doing this.

• I've downloaded .hathdl files from galleries but H@H isn't downloading them!
  • Make sure the .hathdl files are in the hathdl folder and their extensions have not changed.
  • Make sure the client has been running for over an hour and that you have positive trust.
  • It takes time for H@H to completely download larger or older galleries.

• "We appear to have reached the image limit. Attempting to contact the server to ask for a limit increase..."
  • You have downloaded up to your daily limit (via H@H Proxy or .hathdl's), you must wait 24 hours.
  • This limit can be increased by purchasing the "More Pages" Hath Perks.

• "Server reported expired key; attempting to refresh time from server and retrying."
  • Ignore this unless it persists.

• "Your client has been suspended for having an unreasonably high cache reset count."
  • Your client has been banned. You must send a request to Tenboro for an unblock.
  • This can occur if any of your cache files were deleted and your cache database was not updated to reflect this.
    • If you need to reduce your cache size, simply reduce your max speed setting. The client will automatically remove excess cache files.

• "java.lang.NullPointerException - [ERR] at org.hath.base.CacheHandler.initializeCacheHandler(CacheHandler.java:214)"
  • Make sure that the user you're running H@H as has write access to the directory from which you run it.

• "Cache Handler: cannot meet space constraints: Disk free space limit reached."
  • Your free disk space was detected as too low. The client will stop getting new files until this is remedied.
  • Change your disk space setting ("Minimum space to leave on disk") (minimum 100 MB even if not set) or remove files from the hard-drive that H@H uses.

• My cache size suddenly shrunk!
  • Your cache size is tied directly to your max speed. Any time your max speed settings are reduced your cache size can be reduced as well.
  • If your client has not been run since Oct 2011 see here.

• I'm having high memory usage running H@H under OpenVZ!
  • Because of how OpenVZ calculates resident memory size, H@H can appear to use as much as a full gigabyte of RAM on the platform even though its actual resident memory size is usually 50-100 MB.
  • There is no known workaround at this time.

Startup Errors

• "Startup notification failed."
  • (This is a generic message, but if no other message accompanies it then this section may apply).
  • Your speed was measured as too low. Turn off any bandwidth-consuming applications and try again.
  • Java may be binding an IPv6 port. Try launching H@H with java -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -jar HentaiAtHome.jar.
  • You failed to contact the main server. Please try again later.

• My entire cache is being verified when I start the client!
  • This happens whenever there was a bad shutdown. This is to ensure the integrity of your cache is still in good standing.
  • The client should run normally after the checking is complete. Please be patient.

• "The database could not be loaded."
• "Critical Error: Failed to buffer requested data for cache list write."
  • Deleted hath.db, rename hath.db.bak to hath.db, then re-launch the client.
    • If this fails, delete both files and re-launch the client.
  • Make sure you have ownership of the files and folders that H@H uses.

• "The client has failed the external connection test."
  • Your port for H@H was not detected as open. You may test it here.
  • Make sure that the port you are opening matches the one set in your H@H settings.
  • Check any of the various guides on the internet to help with the opening of ports.

• "Rejecting connection request during startup."
  • If this doesn't happen very often simply ignore it. Other users may simply be contacting your client too soon.
  • Check if your firewall or other software is blocking Java connections.

• "Required library file sqlitejdbc-v056.jar could not be found."
  • The file is missing, re-download H@H.
  • It you run H@H through a command line, make sure to cd to the same directory as the HentaiAtHome.jar file before running. You may also add that cd command to the batch file using a text editor.

• '"[WARN] Unknown host rpc.hentaiathome.net, aborting.."
  • This may be a DNS issue. Try flushing your DNS cache and restarting the client.
  • Try switching to Google's public DNS (8.8.8.8)

• "[ERR] {java.lang.Throwable$WrappedPrintStream.println(Unknown Source)}"
• "Could not start the internal HTTP server."
  • Something besides H@H is already using the port that it was assigned. Try closing any program that may be doing this or set H@H to use a different port.

E-Hentai Forums

• "Sorry, you are not permitted to use this board."
  • Your IP address may be banned. Try to change your IP.
  • PM Tenboro with your IP if this continues or if you cannot change your IP.
  • You are using the Opera Mini browser/network. Try an alternate browser.

• I can't post URLs or attachments!
  • New users may not do so until they have made at least 2 posts.

• My post count is not going up!
  • Posts made in the Free Speech Zone do not count towards your post count.

• My PMs to Tenboro are not being answered!
  • He receives a lot of them, please be patient.

• I accidentally deleted a private message!
  • Unfortunately, it is too difficult to individually restore PMs from the site's backups.

• My sent PMs are not showing up in my 'Sent' folder!
  • Make sure you checked off "Add a copy of this message to my sent items folder" when you send messages.

• I can't change my member title!
  • This is only possible after you've made 100+ posts.

• I can't imbue Karma!
  • You must make at least 1 forum post first.
  • You may be banned from imbuing Karma. You should receive notification if this is the case.
  • You may only imbue the someone you have already imbued with Karma once every 72 hours.

• I can't imbue negative Karma!
  • This feature has been disabled.

• My post / thread disappeared!
  • Your post / thread was likely deleted by a moderator. This most often occurs due to rule violations.
  • Do not repost the offending text.

• I want to change my name.
  • PM Tenboro.

• I receive a warning e-mail from the forum!
  • The forum will send a warning to your original email address whenever the password or email associated with the account is changed.

EHTracker

• My stats are not being tracked!
  • Make sure you are using the personalized torrent and not the public one.
  • You may have reset your personal key. Any torrents with older personal keys need to be re-downloaded.

EHWiki

• I can't edit anything!
  • Make sure you have an account that has a verified email address.

• I have an account with verified email address, but I cannot create new pages!
  • You need to be in the 'Creator' group in order to create new pages. Please contact a wiki admin.
