Gallery Searching

Galleries may be searched using various criteria. Searches may only be performed once every 3 seconds.

Search Terms

Search terms should be separated by spaces.

Operators

• Quotation marks (" ")
  • Allows for exclusive searching. All terms placed inside a pair of quotation marks are treated as one keyword, forcing string searches (the whole term in the order given, not its individual parts).
• Question marks (?)
• Underscores (_)
  • Act as wild cards. Will match any character in a keyword.
• Asterisks (*)
• Percentage signs (%)
  • Act as wild cards. Will match any character sequence in a search string.
• Subtraction signs (-)
  • Excludes the terms that immediately follow them from search results.

Example

comic*lo*4? would match everything with a title/tag starting with "comic"
followed by any sequence of chars (including none) followed by "lo"
followed by another any-char-sequence followed by a 4 and a wildcard
(like 40, 41, 42 and so on)

"comic rin" -2007 -2008 would match "comic rin" (but not permutations of
this), that does not also contain 2007 or 2008 in the title or tag

comic -"comic rin*2008" would match "comic", excluding everything
titled/tagged as "comic rin" followed by any-char-sequence followed by 2008

Disallowed Searches

• Any terms under 3 characters besides "3d" will be ignored.
• Any keywords in excess of 8 will be ignored. Only the first 8 will be used.
• If tag searching is enabled:
  • Common terms such as "the" will be ignored unless put into quotes with another term.
• Searches with only exclusions are not permitted.

Search Description

Enables searching the text of descriptions made by the galleries' uploaders.

Search Uploader Name

 

Search Torrent Filenames

Only Show Galleries With Torrents

 

Minimum Rating

Enables searches for galleries that have a minimum star rating (2-5).

By Favorites

Enables searches for only galleries that have been favorited by the user. Can be for all favorites or only those in a certain color category.

 

Show Expunged Galleries (Dupes, garbage, etc.)

Enables searching expunged galleries. This does NOT enable searching of removed, fjorded, private, or deleted galleries.

Use Deep Tag Searching

Must have Search Gallery Tags enabled.

Enables searching tags that have less than 10 mod power, including those that are suppressed by downvotes.

File Search

Enables comparison searches against a given image file. Files to be compared must be uploaded from the user's computer and can only be done 1 at a time. Operates by taking the SHA-1 hash of the uploaded file and comparing it to the database of all images in the E-Hentai Galleries. The uploaded file is NOT stored on the servers.

• Use Similarity Scan
  • Enabled by default.
  • Searches for non-exact matches, typically of different resolutions, sharpness, or quality.
  • If the uploaded image is detected as being monotone (e.g. black and white) then only exact matches are permitted.
• Only Search Covers
  • Will only compare the first image of the galleries to the uploaded image.
• Show Expunged
  • Enables searching expunged galleries' images. This does NOT enable searching of removed, fjorded, private, or deleted galleries' images.

Search by Hash by URL

Users may also search via URL if they already know the hash with which to search.

Simply enter the URL with the hash like this:
