Advice for Brand New Players

When you first create an account on E-Hentai.org (which also starts your HentaiVerse account), don't do battle in HV for a few days. A completely fresh account starts with 1/50 HP and 0/10 MP, requiring that you wait quite a while for your HP and MP to regen to full. Instead, let the Dawn of a New Day event give you at least enough EXP to reach Level 1, which should take 2 days.

Once you're Level 1, you'll have an Aura Point and an Ability Point. Spend your Ability Point on Aura Slot 1 (the ability on the farthest right), and then spend your Aura Point on Green Aura. Green Aura will prevent 2 points of damage from every physical attack made against you. At the lowest levels, most monsters deal just about 2 damage per attack, so you'll take little to no damage for several levels.

With your Ability and Aura set up, it's time to buy some Primary Stats with your EXP. Depending on which of the Fighting Styles you choose to focus on, you'll eventually change your stat balance, but for now, you'll want to keep each of your stats equally balanced.

Now that you're ready to do battle, go to the Settings page and set the Challenge Level to Cake. Monsters on Normal deal too much damage for an unequipped player to handle, so Cake is ideal for earning your first several levels. Then, start a Grindfest, and bash away on the monsters until you run out of HP. Once the Grindfest has ended, head to the Healer to restore yourself to full HP, spending some of the credits you earned during the Grindfest.

Advice for Novice Players

Advice for Experienced Players

Fighting Bosses/Legendaries/Godlies

This is a short overview of the prevailing strategies for defeating the enemies in the Ring of Blood and their counterparts at the end of Arena challenges starting with Endgame. For more information, a place to ask specific questions, and see descriptions of other successful and not so successful attempts, look here.

Notes:

  • The following strategies are by no means the only strategies for defeating these enemies. They may not even be the best. They are, however, strategies that have been successfully employed and emulated.
  • Each category is split into two subcategories, damage and survival.
  • Damage: discusses how a player should go about damaging the enemy. If you have access to an ethereal weapon, feel free to disregard this.
  • Survival: discusses specific survival strategies for fighting that enemy. However, a player should not necessarily ignore any general survival strategies not mentioned. (e.g. a player who uses haste should not necessarily stop using haste because it is not mentioned.)

The Bosses

Damage:

  • Because the bosses are somewhat resistant to physical damage and have a large amount of health, the use of non-piercing weapons is generally discouraged.
  • A player is using a piercing weapon should attack the enemy normally though taking special note to cast Poison and use their Spirit Attack only when Penetrated Armor is in effect to maximize damage.

Survival:

  • Players should have poison in effect on the enemy at all times to reduce the boss's regeneration of MP and SP.
  • Due to the high damage of bosses, keeping them Weakened at all times is suggested.
  • The Manbearpig's Spirit attack does magic damage, so keeping him Bewildered is advisable.

Konata & Mikuru Asahina

Both of these can be defeated using the same strategies employed against the bosses. It is, however, important to note that while the leap in difficulty between the bosses and Konata is slight, that is not true of the leap between Konata and Mikuru. Bring nothing but high-quality restoratives versus Mikuru.

Ryouko Asakura & Yuki Nagato

From this point on, the enemies get significantly harder. Having access to the spell Spark of Life makes things easier. If a player does not have it, they should come prepared with Scrolls of the Gods.

Damage:

  • Both of them are immune to physical damage (they take 1 damage per hit).
  • To damage them, proc Penetrated Armor then follow with a Holy AOE spell (e.g. Purge or Banish).
  • As always, cast Poison after having proc'ed Penetrated Armor.

Survival:

  • It is highly recommended that a player use one or both of haste and slow to extend the usefulness of Penetrated Armor and generally reduce damage taken.
  • Ryouko only uses Physical damage attacks, so a player does not need to Bewilder her.
  • Yuki uses both Physical and Magical damage attacks, so both Weaken and Bewilder should be used.
