Equipment in the HentaiVerse is categorized into two different types, Weaponry and Armor.

Weapons can be categorized between three different types: One-Handed, Two-Handed, and Staffs.

One-Handed Weapons (1H)

• Dagger, Shortsword, Wakizashi, Axe, Club, Rapier, Sword Chucks

Two-Handed Weapons (2H)

• Longsword, Scythe, Katana, Mace, Estoc

Staffs

• Ebony, Redwood, Willow, Oak, Katalox

Armor comes in three types (Cloth, Light, and Heavy) with various subtypes of each. Each type has particular strengths and weaknesses and suit the needs of different character builds and play styles. Armor can occupy six equipment slots: Offhand (Shields), Helmet, Body, Hands, Legs, and Feet.

Shield

• Subtypes: Buckler, Kite Shield, Tower Shield

Cloth

• Subtypes: Cotton, Gossamer, Silk, Phase
• Slots:
  • Head: Cap
  • Body: Robe
  • Hands: Gloves
  • Legs: Pants
  • Feet: Shoes

Light

• Subtypes: Leather, Dragon Hide, Kevlar
• Slots:

Heavy

• Subtypes: Chainmail, Plate, Shield
• Slots:
  • Head: Coif (Chainmail), Helmet (Plate)
  • Body: Hauberk (Chainmail), Cuirass (Plate)
  • Hands: Mitons (Chainmail), Gauntlets (Plate), Gauntlets (Shield)
  • Legs: Chausses (Chainmail), Greaves (Plate)
  • Feet: Boots (Chainmail), Sabatons (Plate), Sabatons (Shield)

Prefixes and Suffixes

All Equipment has a tiered scale of prefixes featuring a quality grade and element and a suffix that provides an extra effect.

Quality

Quality Grade is separated by those below Average and by those above Average. Quality has an effect on the stats of the equipment, where higher quality equipment generally has better stats.

  • Flimsy (merged Flimsy-grade equips are merged with Crude as of patch 0.4.8)
  • Crude
  • Fair
• Average
• Above Average
  • Fine
  • Superior
  • Exquisite
  • Magnificent
  • Legendary (according to Tenboro, only two Legendary equips have been generated as of early November 2010).

Ethereal

Weapons with the quality grade of fine or above can have the additional prefix Ethereal. (According to Tenboro, the chance of them dropping is 1%, but in reality, the drop rate is significantly lower.)

While it is true that the stats on ethereal weapons are significantly worse than non-ethereal weapons, they still can be useful. First they have no interference or burden. Secondly, soul damage does significantly more damage than normal to bosses, legendaries, and the Gods.

Note: While soul rating does not increase the damage dealt by ethereal weapons, Radiant Soul does.

Element

Element Denotes the level bracket of the equipment. Each piece of equipment has an innate "gear level" that determines the base stats of the piece. If a player equips a piece with a higher gear level than their own level, its stats will be scaled down to their level in accordance with level scaling.

  • Steel LVL 40-59 [Only applies to Weapons, Heavy Armor]
  • Gold LVL 40-59 [Only applies to Staffs, Cloth & Light Armor]
  • Platinum LVL 60-79
  • Titanium LVL 80-99
  • Mithril LVL 100-119
  • Emerald LVL 120-139
  • Sapphire LVL 140-159
  • Ruby LVL 160-179
  • Diamond LVL 180-199
  • Prism LVL 200-???

Notes:

1. As of patch 0.4.0, new Staffs, Cloth and Light armor generated by the system no longer have an element to denote their level brackets.
2. As of patch 0.5.0, new equipment generated by the system no longer have an element to denote their level brackets.
3. Equipment may have the "wrong" element for its level if it has been levelled up in Item World, as this does not currently change the original element when the equipment enters a new bracket.

Suffixes are special characteristics that can be found on some weapons and armor and add or improve certain stats.

Equipment Popups

To open a popup window listing the stats for a piece of equipment, simply mouse over the equipment (in either the Equipment Shop or the character equipment screen) and press C. Caps Lock must be off and your browser must be set to allow popups from the HentaiVerse. This allows the stats or the equipment URL to be copied and pasted, for example in a forum post.
