Action Speed
Action Speed is a derived attribute, calculated from:
Action Speed = 100 + AGI / 3
Effects
Action speed translates into how long a 1.0x action (like an attack or Tier 1 elemental spell) takes by subtracting it from 300. As battles progress and time units pass, some monsters with higher action speeds may perform an additional attack against the player. Conversely, a player who has accumulated enough time units due to their high action speed may take a turn to perform an additional action before the monsters are allowed their action.
Burden
Burden is a Compromise Statistic on equipment. Cloth armor has very little burden (Phase armor has none), while heavy plate armor has very high burden. Similarly, small weapons (like daggers) have low burden, while heavy weapons (such as maces) have very high burden. Higher quality equipment tends to have less burden than their lower quality counterparts. Every point of burden above 20 reduces action speed by 1.
Increasing Action Speed
In addition to increasing his AGI stat and wearing low-Burden equipment, a player can do certain things to increase his action speed in battle. These are:
- Use the spell Haste.
- Haste increases base action speed by 20, plus .4 for every point of Supportive Proficiency, capped at +100 action speed with 200 proficiency.
- Unlock the X-Item, X-Attack, and X-Magic abilities to decrease the base action time of their battle actions.
- Set their title to Destined, which reduces total burden by 3%, or Godslayer, which reduces total burden by 5%.
Note
Action speed is capped at 200.
