One-Handed
If a player is using a single one-handed weapon (possibly in combination with a shield), they have the chance to proc an additional status effect on themselves after hitting an enemy. This is:
Overwhelming Strikes: Increases attack damage by 15%, attack accuracy by 50%, and parry chance by 10% for a short while.
- This effect generally lasts for 3 turns.
- Proc chance, in order of importance, is calculated from One-Handed Proficiency, Endurance, and Strength. It can be calculated with the following formula:
Overwhelming Strikes chance = 5 + (0.02 * STR + 0.02 * END) * (1 + 1H / 200)
- Proc chance is capped at 25%.
When equipped with a shield, an additional proc can trigger: a Counter-Attack on an enemy whose attack has been blocked.
- This is a normal attack, except that it cannot proc any effects. It is also affected by Overwhelming Strikes.
- Players can only Counter-Attack once per player turn.
- Proc chance, in order of importance, is calculated from Dexterity, Strength, and Shield Proficiency. It can be calculated with the following formula:
Counter-Attack chance = 10 + (0.04 * STR + 0.04 * DEX) * (1 + Shield / 200)
- Proc chance is capped at 50%.
Two-Handed
Two-Handed weapons have a chance to proc Domino Strikes on hit, which will cause splash damage to nearby enemies. When Domino Strikes procs, it will hit at least one adjacent or one off enemy, and up to a maximum of two enemies in either direction (a maximum total number of 4 enemies splashed). Enemies further than one off will not be effected. Splash damage targets have an unreduced chance to be affected by standard weapon procs like Bleeding Wounds. Splash damage is calculated as 75% damage on adjacent enemies and 50% on enemies one off.
- Domino Strikes are not guaranteed hits -- they can still miss.
- Domino Strikes can go around an adjacent dead monster if you roll a hit on a one off monster.
- Proc chance, in order of importance, is calculated from Two-Handed Proficiency, Strength, and Dexterity. It can be calculated with the following formula:
Domino Strike chance = 40 + (0.04 * STR + 0.02 * DEX) * (1 + 2H / 200)
- Proc chance is capped at 70%.
Dual Wielding
Equipping two one-handed weapons has a chance to proc Offhand Strike on hit, which will cause an extra attack against the targeted enemy with the same damage type as your offhand weapon. Offhand Strikes also have the chance to proc their own weapon proc. In the event that both weapons proc during the same attack, the offhand proc will take effect first, and if both weapons have the same proc, the mainhand's proc will override the offhand's. Offhand weapon damage is reduced by 50% - 1% per 10 points of dual wielding proficiency, capping at 250 proficiency (25% damage reduction). The offhand weapon also gets a 50% boost to its Parry.
- Proc chance, in order of importance, is calculated from Dual Wielding Proficiency, Agility, and Dexterity. It can be calculated with the following formula:
Offhand Strike chance = 20 + (0.04 * AGI + 0.02 * DEX) * (1 + DW / 200)
- Proc chance is capped at 50%.
Niten Ichiryu
A special Fighting Style that allows a Wakizashi to be equipped in the offhand with a Katana in the mainhand, bypassing the Katana's two-handed nature. While using Niten Ichiryu, both the Dual Wielding and Two-Handed proficiencies come into play. The stats of the Katana and the chance of Domino Strikes are determined by Two-Handed, while the stats of the Wakizashi and the chance of an Offhand Strike are determined by Dual Wielding. However, unlike normal dual wielding, offhand damage is reduced by 75% (upgradable to 50% through proficiency) and the offhand does not gain a parry bonus. Additionally, no weapon proficiencies are gained when using this style.
Staff
If the player is wielding a staff, casting a spell on an enemy has a chance to proc:
Coalesced Mana: Mystical energies have converged on this target. Striking it with any magic spell will consume only half the normal mana.
- Proc chance can be calculated with the following formula:
Coalesced Mana chance = 10 + (0.04 * WIS + 0.02 * INT) * (1 + Staff / 200)
- Proc chance is capped at 35%.
- If Coalesced Mana is affecting an enemy, hitting it with your staff has a chance to proc:
Ether Theft: Mana is being drained from this target and returned to the caster. (Chance based on equipped Staff. Duration capped at 3 turns.)
- This replaces the effects of Coalesced Mana.
- It is possible for Coalesced Mana to proc on a monster with an Ether Theft proc if an AOE spell was cast to a monster other than the one with the Ether Theft proc.
- If you cast a spell on a target affected by Ether Theft, there is a chance to proc:
Channeling: You are channeling the mystic forces of the ever-after. Your next spell is powered up by 50%, and costs no MP.
- Damage and direct healing spells are 50% stronger.
- Deprecating magic and supportive magic (including Regen) last 50% longer.
- Offensive spells have a 100% hit chance and cannot be interfered with.
- The effects of Channeling does not occur and will not be lost if an offensive spell during Channeling is targeted on a monster with the Coalesced Mana proc. In this case, the effects of Coalesced Mana proc will occur instead.
