Talk:Proficiencies
Does anyone know if it is possible to gain proficiency on missed attacks? I'll PM Tenboro about it if no one knows. --Boggyb 23:53, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Considering that you definitely gain prof on resisted spells, which is essentially the same thing as a missed attack, I'd say "yes." Plus, I'm pretty sure I've seen my 2H prof go up from misses, since they're so damn common. --Coredumperror 09:14, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- 51 2 Manthra evades your attack.
- 51 1 You gain 0.02 points of one-handed weapon proficiency.
Do Magical Proficiencies increase the effect or duration of the procs of attack spells? --Boggyb 01:08, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'm reasonably certain that it doesn't increase duration, since the elemental and holy ones last 4 ticks for me, which is just as long as they did at the early levels. --Coredumperror 09:14, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
No idea on either of the above. Should we list the numerical effects/formulas of proficiencies on certain things and then mirror them on the respective pages as well? --cmal 21:11, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
People don't only not gain proficiencies when defending. Any other "skipping" of a turn prevents proficiency gain. Which makes me wonder, should we make a page for known errors/bugs?-Boggyb (I don't feel like logging in on my phone)
So does that also count for casting a spell with insufficient mana or using Focus? What about using Spirit with insufficient OC/zero SP? Trying to use an item on mobs actually uses it on you now, so does that count as well? And it might be a good idea to create a page about bugs. --cmal 02:37, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- Using Focus counts as skipping your turn. Failing to cast a spell due to insufficient mana, however, does not. It also causes a bug that makes the target of that spell immediately lose Coalesced Mana. --Coredumperror 09:14, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
What's with the use of both male and female pronouns to denote the gender of the player. I know why there are problems with the using of 3rd person plural pronoun (they), but they do not really exist on this site. It seems like including both is overly politically correct.--Boggyb 09:27, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've been using "player" and "they" just because using he/she is stupid. --cmal 18:11, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
- Way to be a sexist, Boggyb. "They" should be used, in my opinion. =p0xyaural sex 00:28, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to be sexist. If I was, I would be suggesting that we use the 3rd person masculine pronoun instead of the 3rd person plural.--Boggyb 17:10, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
under magic prof, it should tell effects of curative prof and Curse Weaving mechanism --Ewq23 (talk) 05:23, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
