- amputee
- A person missing limbs is central.

- Assfucking.
- ballgag
- A sex toy where a ball is attached to a strap and used to gag someone's mouth.
- bdsm
- A type of lifestyle where typically one part is dominant and the other is submissive, though more than two may also be involved.
- bestiality
- Sex with animals. Not to be confused with furry, which involves human/animal hybrids. Bestiality is strictly sex with animals.
- Slave tags with notable synonym zoophilia.
- big breasts
- Generally large breasts. Slightly opinionated, but if breasts are as huge as a person's head they can safely be tagged as big.

- Should not be used for just any kind of body paint, like war paint in some character's face (which could be considered a tag on its own merits). It means that the body paint is done on a larger scale.

- Breasts growing for some reason or another. Not age progression.

- The act of being ejaculated on by more than one person.

- Clear view up a woman's skirt. Way too common in manga to use it there.

- Usually computer-generated imagery. Not for real porn, to say the least.

- For galleries that contain images with several frames.

- artbook
- A collection of images and graphics of a given topic from a published book. Not for unofficial art collections.

- full color
- All the pages are colourized. If only one chapter out of two is colourized, the gallery is not full colour.

- rewrite
- Means that someone has filled in their own story in the blank speech bubbles, regardless of how the real story went. Because of the restricted format, rewrites are seldom considered to be of high quality, but some people might still find it better than no story/kanji.
- uncensored
- Either published uncensored or later de-censored, the gallery is not censored at any point.

Variables
- Cirle
- Name of the circle that published the manga.
- Convention [contested]
- Popular conventions like Comiket and Reitaisai are where many doujinshi are released. For these two, the tagging standard would be c# and reitaisai #, # denoting exactly at which convention the release took place.
- Mangaka
- Names of the artists who drew parts or all of the manga. Note that these names are often pseudonyms, but credited in the manga.
- Original series
- Names of the series that appear or are being parodied. Parodies should be obvious and relevant. For instance a cosplayer cosplaying a certain character.
- Participant
- Names of characters or people participating in the gallery.
- Publication
- Mainly for incomplete but translated galleries of larger publications. For example: comic megastore YYYY-MM (Year-Month).
- Translator
- Pseudonym of the person or group who translated the gallery.
Bad tags
- Note: This list does not include all bad tags, but some examples that help people get the general idea.
Language
- Japanese
- It is expected.
Content/fetishes
- gay
- While it can be used for real porn, stick to yaoi for manga.
- microphone
- No one cares. It's not a common fetish, and when used it is likely that it has no sexual connection to the gallery.
- nymphomaniac
- It is expected.
- sex
- It is expected.
- skirt
- Such common cloth items aren't useful for searches.
- vaginal
- It is expected.
Gallery descriptors
- censored
- It is expected.
- comiket
- Use the variable c# instead. Comiket alone is not a good search term.
- hot
- A personal opinion, not descriptive.
Variables
- Year
- The release year alone isn't needed. It might be paired with the name of a monthly publication, but on its own it is completely useless.
What are slave tags?
Slave tags are tags that have been grouped together under one dominating master tag. Searches for these tags will yield results from all tags within the same group.
Why should I tag?
It helps people find the things they are looking for in the galleries.
Tagging earns you points toward a toplist position and the rewards that come with it. Scoring works like this: You score 3 points for a new tag and 1 point for voting on a tag. You can score for up to 5 tags on any one gallery. New tags are given priority for score. So if you added 3 tags and voted on 5 you would get 11 points (3x3 new, 2x1 vote).
