Should we also put some notes in somewhere about the difference between the damage types (physical, magical, soul, and how these can be "physical" or "elemental" damage), what defends against what, and the two derived Rating stats? --[[User:Cmal|cmal]] 21:44, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

I was correct in my placement of the absorption, so now all we need to do is add whatever else.--[[User:Boggyb|Boggyb]] 19:42, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Here is what I had so far:

Damage Reduction: There are three factors that go into determining damage reduction: Physical/Magical Absorption (including that granted by Shield or Barrier), Physical/Magical Mitigation, and specific type Mitigation (e.g. Slashing, Fire, etc.). It is important to note that mitigations are applied in a multiplicative fashion.

This works out to:

[(Original Damage Roll- Absorption)*(1-Mitigation)*(1-Mitigation)]= Damage taken.

The reason I haven't pushed it live is because I'm not sure when Absorption is applied (I Pm'ed Tenboro about it) and I think more info about how the mitigation granted from elemental ratings are calculated additively (before being applied multiplicatively)--Boggyb 18:17, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

We need to figure out how to do equations properly in this thing. That LaTeX thing has no documentation. --cmal 20:28, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
