==What Are Slave Tags?==
Slave tags are tags that have been grouped together under a single master tag. Tags may be grouped because they are misspellings or they are closely similar concepts, and the master will be the most correct spelling or a usefully abstracted term (for instance, [[sex toys]] is the master for the group that includes "dildo").

When a tag is slaved, current instances of that tag remain on galleries and searchable, and the master of that tag does not appear on those galleries until placed there by a user (which may be done simply by voting up the slaved tag).

Attempting to tag a slaved tag will automatically tag the master instead. Searching for a slaved tag will yield any results from that tag, as well as from its master. Searching for a master does NOT return results from any of its slaves.

===Longer String Issues===
Searches for certain tags can return results from more tags than intended. This happens because of [[Gallery Searching#Title vs Tag Matches|how the search engine works]]. The main problem is that a search term may appear as a partial string in a longer tag.

As an example, ''cat'' will match the [[cat]], [[catgirl]], [[human cattle]], and many other tags, though it will not match [[scat]] or [[petrification]]. If a [[slave tag]] is matched, though, the connection may not be so obvious. For instance, a search for ''anal'' may return a gallery that is not tagged with anything containing the word "anal"; it may only be tagged with [[sex toys]]. This happens because the search for ''anal'' matches both the [[anal]] and "anal beads" tags, and since "anal beads" is slaved to [[sex toys]], the search results will include any galleries tagged with [[sex toys]].

There are four potential solutions to the longer string issue, each with their ups and downs.

====Slave Tags====
If a tag has a slave term that does not itself have longer string issues, then that slave term can be used to search with in order to limit the returned results to the intended tag.
*E.g., since ''"anal sex"'' is slaved to [[anal]], searching ''"anal sex"'' will return galleries with [[anal]] tagged, and will not return any galleries that may only have [[sex toys]] tagged since ''"anal sex"'' is not a slave of [[sex toys]].

====[[Namespace]]====
For some tags, the inclusion of a namespace along with the tag will heavily refine the search results. Of course, this is only possible for tags that have namespace pairings.
*E.g. searching ''artist:inazuma'' will avoid getting results that include [[inazuma eleven]].

====Tag Exclusion====
To exclude galleries that match a longer, unintended tag, simply subtract that tag from the search.
*E.g. searching ''monster -"monster girl"'' to exclude galleries tagged with [[monster girl]].
The disadvantage to this method is that it will also exclude any galleries that are tagged with both [[monster]] and [[monster girl]]. It also becomes prohibitive if there are many tags to exclude. The advantage to this approach is that it remains possible to use other search terms, as well as the various search options.

====Exact Tag====
To get a list of all galleries tagged with a given tag, either...
*Find a gallery tagged ''monster'' (for example), click on the tag, and then click the "Show Tagged Galleries" link that appears.
*Or type the appropriate URL directly into the address bar (e.g., [http://g.e-hentai.org/tag/monster/ http://g.e-hentai.org/tag/monster/]).
The disadvantage to this method is that this list is actually less a search and more an index. The search functions cannot be used and it is not possible to include another tag or tags in any way; clicking Apply Filter will abandon the list and start a normal search. Also, only galleries where the tag has at least 10 power show up on this list. On the other hand, every gallery in this list will have the exact, desired tag, and not some longer, unintended tag instead. This is uninfluenced even by slave or master tags.

Namespaces indicate a tag's purpose. Some tags cannot be entered without an accompanying namespace; this is intentional. Any tag without a default namespace will request that the user enter one of the accepted namespaces already paired with the tag. The bounty system is an incentive system where a user can post a bounty for things, such as a wanted [[E-Hentai User Gallery System|gallery]] or for image identification, in exchange for currency as a reward. The currencies that are available for use in the bounty system are [[credits]] and [[Hath]].

#Fill in a detailed bounty description is filled to provide information of what is wanted from the bounty.

#Contribute a reward for a successful completion of the bounty. The reward can be in either [[credits]], [[Hath]], or any combination of the two.

*A user can accept a bounty to notify the bounty poster that the user is searching for the bounty contents or add additional information that the bounty poster may not know about.

*A user can claim a bounty for the reward, given that the user provided what the bounty poster was looking for. The claimer must deposit 10k [[credits]] in order to make a claim which will be refunded if the claim is accepted (it will be forfeit if the claim is rejected).

*After the claim, the bounty poster can decide whether or not it matches the criteria set by the bounty poster, which can then accept or reject the claim.

*If the bounty poster does not decide within 7 days after the user claimed the bounty, the user can force accept the reward. All claims are irreversible, so the bounty poster must check the claims carefully.

*Accepts/claims must have some information entered, as blank accepts/claims are rejected.

==Expiry==
Bounties can be automatically be cancelled if there are no claims or additional rewards added every 30 days, upon which the rewards will be returned. There will be a warning sent to the bounty poster 3 days before the expiry of the bounty.

==Canceling Bounties==
In order to have the option to Rescind/Cancel the entire bounty, it cannot be claimed, completed or the bounty cannot have been accepted by anyone in the last 24 hours.

==Top Bounties==
Shows the bounties with the highest awards offered for each bounty type.

==Hunter Ranks==
The system will calculate a Rank for every qualifying Hunter, depending on the number of accepted and rejected claims the Hunter had made. Every Hunter starts out as Unranked. After getting 5 accepts with 2 or fewer rejects, an Unranked hunter will move up to Rank C. In addition to counting accepted claims, a high accept-to-reject ratio is required for the higher Ranks.

Namespaces are designations for [[tags]] indicating their purpose. They are of particular usefulness when a tag would have multiple meanings, such as being the name of both an artist and a character.

==Adding a Tag within a Namespace==
For any tag that exists within a given namespace, inputting that tag prefixed by ''namespace:'' will tag it under that namespace. Therefore, if ''example'' is an artist, inputting ''artist:example'' will tag ''example'' in the artist namespace. Note, however, that this does not apply to the namespace labeled "miscellaneous"; this is simply the default namespace, for which no prefix is necessary.

Each namespace also has one or more aliases which may be used in place of the full namespace designation. These aliases are listed in the table below. Note that the default namespace has no valid prefix at all.

Any tag that is only used in one namespace is defaulted to that namespace. Tags like this do not require a prefix in order to tag them. Simply entering the tag without a namespace prefix will cause it to automatically be tagged in its default namespace.

By contrast, tags that have uses in multiple namespaces will not be taggable at all without the explicit use of a namespace prefix. For example, if ''generic'' can be either an artist or a character, then users will be required to explicitly enter ''character:generic'' to tag the character or ''artist:generic'' to tag the artist.

==Restricted Namespaces==
At the current time, all namespaces except the default namespace are restricted. This means that regular users are only allowed to use tags that already exist within that namespace. New tags may be added to namespaces by [[E-Hentai VIP|tag moderators]].

In other words, if ''sometag'' is not in the artist namespace and the user tries to tag ''artist:sometag'', the tag will be rejected. ==What Are Slave Tags?==
Slave tags are tags that have been grouped together under a single master tag. Tags may be grouped because they are misspellings or they are closely similar concepts, and the master will be the most correct spelling or a usefully abstracted term (for instance, [[sex toys]] is the master for the group that includes "dildo").

When a tag is slaved, current instances of that tag remain on galleries and searchable, and the master of that tag does not appear on those galleries until placed there by a user (which may be done simply by voting up the slaved tag).

Attempting to tag a slaved tag will automatically tag the master instead. Searching for a slaved tag will yield any results from that tag, as well as from its master. Searching for a master does NOT return results from any of its slaves.

Searches for certain tags can return results from more tags than intended. This happens because of [[Gallery Searching#Title vs Tag Matches|how the search engine works]]. The main problem is that a search term may appear as a partial string in a longer tag.

As an example, ''cat'' will match the [[cat]], [[catgirl]], [[human cattle]], and many other tags, though it will not match [[scat]] or [[petrification]]. If a [[slave tag]] is matched, though, the connection may not be so obvious. For instance, a search for ''anal'' may return a gallery that is not tagged with anything containing the word "anal"; it may only be tagged with [[sex toys]]. This happens because the search for ''anal'' matches both the [[anal]] and "anal beads" tags, and since "anal beads" is slaved to [[sex toys]], the search results will include any galleries tagged with [[sex toys]].

For some tags, the inclusion of a namespace along with the tag will heavily refine the search results. Of course, this is only possible for tags that have namespace pairings.

====Tag Exclusion====
To exclude galleries that match a longer, unintended tag, simply subtract that tag from the search.
*E.g. searching ''monster -"monster girl"'' to exclude galleries tagged with [[monster girl]].
The disadvantage to this method is that it will also exclude any galleries that are tagged with both [[monster]] and [[monster girl]]. It also becomes prohibitive if there are many tags to exclude. The advantage to this approach is that it remains possible to use other search terms, as well as the various search options.

To get a list of all galleries tagged with a given tag, either...
*Find a gallery tagged ''monster'' (for example), click on the tag, and then click the "Show Tagged Galleries" link that appears.
*Or type the appropriate URL directly into the address bar (e.g., [http://g.e-hentai.org/tag/monster/ http://g.e-hentai.org/tag/monster/]).
The disadvantage to this method is that this list is actually less a search and more an index. The search functions cannot be used and it is not possible to include another tag or tags in any way; clicking Apply Filter will abandon the list and start a normal search. Also, only galleries where the tag has at least 10 power show up on this list. On the other hand, every gallery in this list will have the exact, desired tag, and not some longer, unintended tag instead. This is uninfluenced even by slave or master tags.

==[[Namespace]]==
Namespaces indicate a tag's purpose. Some tags cannot be entered without an accompanying namespace; this is intentional. Any tag without a default namespace will request that the user enter one of the accepted namespaces already paired with the tag. As an example, ''cat'' will match the [[cat]], [[catgirl]], [[human cattle]], and many other tags, though it will not match [[scat]] or [[petrification]]. If a [[slave tag]] is matched, though, the connection may not be so obvious. For some tags, the inclusion of a namespace along with the tag will heavily refine the search results. Of course, this is only possible for tags that have namespace pairings.
*E.g. searching ''artist:inazuma'' will avoid getting results that include [[inazuma eleven]].

====Tag Exclusion====
To exclude galleries that match a longer, unintended tag, simply subtract that tag from the search.
*E.g. searching ''monster -"monster girl"'' to exclude galleries tagged with [[monster girl]].
The disadvantage to this method is that it will also exclude any galleries that are tagged with both [[monster]] and [[monster girl]]. It also becomes prohibitive if there are many tags to exclude. The advantage to this approach is that you can still include other search terms and utilize the various search options.

====Exact Tag====
To get a list of all galleries tagged with a given tag, either...
*Find a gallery tagged ''monster'' (for example), click on the tag, and then click the "Show Tagged Galleries" link that appears.
*Or type the appropriate URL directly into the address bar (e.g., [http://g.e-hentai.org/tag/monster/ http://g.e-hentai.org/tag/monster/]).
The disadvantage to this method is that this list is actually less a search and more an index. The search functions cannot be used and it is not possible to include another tag or tags in any way; clicking Apply Filter will abandon the list and start a normal search. Also, only galleries where the tag has at least 10 power show up on this list. On the other hand, every gallery in this list will have the exact, desired tag, and not some longer, unintended tag instead. This is uninfluenced even by slave or master tags.

Namespaces indicate a tag's purpose. Some tags cannot be entered without an accompanying namespace; this is intentional. Any tag without a default namespace will request that the user enter one of the accepted namespaces already paired with the tag. Galleries may be searched using various criteria. Searches may only be performed once every 3 seconds.

==Search Terms==
Search terms should be separated by spaces.
