Gallery ratings are a scoring system, based on user input, that values a gallery's worth on a scale from 1 to 5 stars.

==How To==
Rating a gallery is done by opening a gallery and using the five stars on the left side below its data and above the Favorites link. Simply click on the desired rating of 1 through 5 (from left to right). The number next to the rating indicates the number of users who have voted on that gallery. Users may not rate their own galleries.

A gallery's rating is displayed both on the gallery's page and on the galleries front page. The rating shown is based on the total number of votes it has received, weighed by each user's [[mod power]] at the time they voted. Users may change their vote at any time (this will require refreshing the gallery page if they have just voted for it), but they may not remove it.

==Effects==
A gallery's rating does not directly affect it in any way. Users may choose to avoid galleries with low ratings, but that is entirely at their discretion. [[Gallery Searching|Gallery searches]] may be performed using a minimum rating as a search requirement.

Users who rate galleries (as well as those who post or vote on [[comments]]) are rewarded points on the Rating & Reviewing [[Toplist]]. There is a cap of 100 points per day for rating.

==History==
Originally, there was an intermediate step between each whole star, which made it possible to give a gallery 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 or 4.5 stars; this was removed for performance reasons. Note that galleries whose first parent was published after the ability to give half stars was removed cannot have an average rating lower than 1.0. (Ratings below 0.5 have never been possible.)

In the Arena, battles have a predetermined length and number of [[HentaiVerse_Bestiary|monsters]] per round. Each Arena challenge has a level requirement, and an entry cost. The first time you clear a new Arena challenge, you get a significant [[Credits|credit]] bonus. After you clear a challenge once, the bonus for clearing that challenge again is reduced to match the entry cost. Each Arena challenge may only be attempted once per [[Dawn of a New Day]], regardless of success or failure.

Unlike in [[Grindfest]] and [[Item World]] battles, the monsters in Arena challenges do not get stronger as the rounds progress. Instead, they remain at 100% strength for the entire battle. There is also an [[EXP]] modifier for each Arena challenge, which alters the EXP you earn from each monster killed. As the challenges get longer and require higher levels, the EXP modifier gets larger, eventually exceeding x1.0.

Completing an Arena challenge is guaranteed to net you a random [[Items|Item]] or [[Equipment]]. There is also a chance that you will receive a [[Bazaar#Healer|Token of Healing]] or [[Token of Blood]] in additional to the usual reward. You will also have your HP and MP fully restored at the end of each arena challenge.

When you are victorious in battle, some monsters may drop items or equipment that are automatically stored into your item inventory. Sometimes consumable healing (health, mana, or spirit) items can be obtained through the use of the [[Bazaar#Healer|Healer]]. The majority of items are consumables; that is, use one and it's gone. Most consumables are used to restore health, mana, or spirit, and can be of the following:

*Draught: Recovery over 12 turns (15 for Health Draughts).
*Potion: Recovery over 3 turns.
*Elixir: Substantial recovery over 10 turns.
*Elemental Infusions: Increase the respective elemental rating and convert physical attack damage to elemental damage for 25 turns.
*Scrolls: Provide special versions of supportive magical effects for extended durations.

Numerous levels of efficiency exist for each type of restorative item.

For example, an Average Health Potion recovers 18% of your base health per turn over 3 turns (54% total).

Keep an eye out for rare items such as elixirs, or even artifacts (which are non-consumable).

==Combat==

Combat can be initiated by random encounters (which happen approximately once per hour while browsing the e-hentai site), by entering [[Arena]] battles, by starting [[Grindfest]]s, or by visiting the [[Item World]]. Each battle will spawn a number of [[HentaiVerse Bestiary|monsters]] for you to fight. You will always act first.

When it is your time to perform an action, you may choose between 7 different actions:

*Attack: Basic physical attack, applying attack stats against your target's defense stats.
*Magic: Prompts you to select a [[Spells|spell]] to cast. See the spells section above for details.
*Spirit: Perform your [[spirit attack]] on a target.
*Skills: Prompts you to select a skill. Currently the only skill implemented is the "Flee" skill, which you can double-click to run from the battle. Note that this takes a full turn to execute, so monsters will get a chance to attack before you escape.
*Items: Prompts you to use an [[Items|item]] from your battle inventory. Note that the battle inventory is NOT the same as the item inventory. Items in the item inventory must be moved to the battle inventory, before they can be used. This is accomplished from the [[Character Menu|Items page]].
*Defend: Increases your defenses for the turn (+25% physical and magical mitigation), but you skip your action for the turn.
*Focus: Increases your chance of landing a spell on the following turn (+50% hit chance, -25 effective interference), but reduces your your evade, block, and parry chances to 0% for the current turn.

After you select your command and execute it, each enemy will perform an attack, spell, or spirit attack. Most of the time, this will result in the end of a turn, though sometimes certain abilities take longer to perform than others, like Area-of-Effect spells. In this case, some enemies may act a second time before you can respond. Combat ends when you or your enemies' health is reduced to zero, or you successfully flee from battle.

There is no penalty if your health is reduced to zero, except that you'll be ejected from the Grindfest/Item World/Arena battle you are currently fighting. You need only spend a few credits at the [[Bazaar#Healer|Healer]] to be restored to full, or just wait for your regen stats to restore you over time.

Hath Perks are various add ons that augment a users experience on the site. Many perks increase experience, karma, and credit gains, as well as modify the users experience in the [[E-Hentai User Gallery System | E-Hentai User Galleries]]. These perks can only be purchased with [[Hath]], which are acquired primarily by running a [[Hentai@Home| Hentai@Home Client]]. Training is an E-Hentai feature where [[Credits]] are spent on skills that affect the user, mainly in the [[HentaiVerse]] and on the [[E-Hentai Forums]]. The cost (but not the duration) of training a given skill increases with skill level. Generally, the more powerful skills are more expensive and take longer to train. Skill training can be aborted, in which case the whole cost will be refunded. A user can only train one skill at a time.

When you are victorious in battle, some monsters may drop items or equipment that are automatically stored into your inventory. Sometimes consumable healing (health, mana, or spirit) items can be obtained through the use of the [[Bazaar#Healer|Healer]]. The majority of items are consumables; that is, use one and it's gone. Most consumables are used to restore health, mana, or spirit, and can be of the following:

*Draught: Recovery over 12 turns (15 for Health Draughts).
*Potion: Recovery over 3 turns.
*Elixir: Recovery over 10 turns.
*Elemental Infusions: Increase the respective elemental rating and converts spirit and physical attack damage to elemental damage for 25 turns.
*Scrolls: Provide max-benefit supportive magical effects.

Numerous levels of efficiency in items exist for each type of restoration item.

For example, an Average Health Potion recovers 18% of your health per turn over 3 turns (54% total).

Keep an eye out for rare items such as elixirs, or even the artifacts (which are non-consumable).

==Combat==

Combat can be initiated by random encounters (which happen approximately once per hour while browsing the e-hentai site), [[Arena]] battles, [[Grindfest]]s, or by entering the [[Item World]]. Each battle will spawn a number of [[HentaiVerse Bestiary|monsters]] for you to fight. You will always act first.

When it is your time to perform an action, you may choose between 7 selections:

*Attack: Basic physical attack, applying attack stats against your target's defense stats.
*Magic: Prompts you to select a [[Spells|spell]] to cast. See the spells section above for details.
*Spirit: Perform your [[spirit attack]] on a target.
*Skills: Prompts you to select a skill. Currently the only skill implemented is the "Flee" skill, which you can double-click to run from the battle. Note that this takes a full turn to execute, so monsters will get a chance to attack before you escape.
*Items: Prompts you to use an [[Items|item]] from your battle inventory. Note that the battle inventory is NOT the same as the item inventory. Items in the item inventory must be moved to the battle inventory, while not currently engaged in battle, before they can be used.
*Defend: Increases your defenses for the turn (+25% physical and magical mitigation), but you skip your action for the turn.
*Focus: Increases your chance of landing a spell on the following turn (+50% hit chance, -25 effective interference), but reduces your your evade, block, and parry chances to 0% for the current turn.

After you select your command and execute it, each enemy will perform an attack, spell, or spirit attack. Most of the time, this will result in the end of a turn, though sometimes certain abilities take longer to perform than others, like multi-attack spells. In this case, some enemies may act again before you. Combat ends when you or your enemies' health is reduced to zero, or you successfully flee from battle.

Hath Perks are various add ons that augment a users experience on the site. Many perks increase experience, karma, and credit gains, as well as modify the users experience in the [[E-Hentai User Gallery System | E-Hentai User Galleries]]. These perks can only be purchased with [[Hath]], which are acquired primarily by running a [[Hentai@Home| Hentai@Home Client]]. Alternatively, Hath can be bought through the [[Hath Exchange]] with [[GP]] or [[Credits]].

Hath Perks are various add ons that augment a users experience on the site. Many perks increase experience, karma, and credit gains, as well as modify the users experience in the [[E-Hentai User Gallery System | E-Hentai User Galleries]]. These perks can only be purchased with [[Hath]], which are acquired primarily by running a [[Hentai@Home| Hentai@Home Client]]. Alternatively, Hath can be bought through the [[Hath Exchange]] with [[GP]] or [[Credits]].

MediaWiki allows you to categorize pages by adding one or more category tags to the text. Adding these tags create links at the bottom of the article which take you to the list of all pages in that category, which makes it easy to browse related articles.

== How to add categories ==

To add an article to a category put the following at the end of the page you are editing...

<nowiki>[[Category:NAME]]</nowiki>

where NAME is the name of the category you want to add it to. Any number of category tags may be added to the page - the page will be listed in all of them.

You can also specify an additional SORT parameter that dictates where the page will appear, alphabetically, within the category. This is achieved by using the following markup:

<nowiki>[[Category:NAME|SORT]]</nowiki>

So for example, to add this page to the 'Help' category, you would use:

<nowiki>[[Category:Help|Categories]]</nowiki>

Note that we used 'Categories' as the sort parameter. Without this the page would be listed under 'H' for 'Help:Categories', instead of under 'C', which is more useful. Other situations where you might want to use the sort parameter is when you have articles about people that are titled as <code>FirstName LastName</code> but within the category you want them listed as <code>LastName, FirstName</code>.

Another way to sort the article in the correct letter without the namespace is

<nowiki>[[Category:Help|{{SUBPAGENAME}}]]</nowiki>

This is extremely helpful when using templates which include a category tag.

''Note: the SORT parameter does '''not''' affect how the page title is displayed within the category listing, just how it is ordered. In the above example, the link to this page will still be 'Help:Categories', and not 'Categories' as you might expect!''

== Linking to Category Pages ==

To create a link to a category page:

If you were linking to the Category Page for Help on MediaWiki, the link would look like this: [[:Category:Help]]

If you want to display alternate text for the link:

<nowiki>[[:Category:NAME|TEXT]]</nowiki>

Here is an example of the same link to the Category Page for Help on MediaWiki as above, but with alternative text: [[:Category:Help|MediaWiki Help Index]]

== Categorize Categories==

Categories themselves and other uploaded files like Pictures can be categorized exactly like normal pages. It is useful to connect the article-categories with categories already in place to establish connections and hierarchies. To this end, after saving the article, follow the category links at the end of the page to see, if the category is already in place and if not, categorize them until you connect them with an existing category.

==Moving categories==
Categories cannot be easily moved [[Help:Moving a page|like other pages]]. For this reason, category names should be chosen carefully.

The easiest way (for those with admin privileges) is to create the new page, delete the old one, and then change the tags in each member of the category (manually or with a bot). However, this loses the page history - not a huge problem when categories are used only for navigation, but when a wiki is structured differently and the category pages contain significant amounts of text, this is undesirable.
